This application serves as a valuable clinical tool for speech therapists and can be beneficial for parents seeking to aid their children in practicing the "f" and "v" sounds. Additionally, English language learners may utilize this app for pronunciation practice. The app comprises 86 images accompanied by optional spoken words and text, offering "f" and "v" practice through auditory bombardment or flashcard drilling. Users are engaged with a stimulating matching game that encourages continued articulation practice throughout.
Articulate F & V was developed by an ASHA certified and licensed speech-language pathologist to address phonological processes such as fricative stopping, stridency deletion, cluster simplification, and final consonant deletion. The diverse phonetic contexts included are initial /f/ in 1-syllable and multisyllabic words, intersyllabic /f/, final /f/, initial /fl/, initial /fr/, initial /v/, intersyllabic /v/, and final /v/ sounds.
